A little background information about me:

• B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University
• Taught in public school, private school, preschool, and homeschooled my own children
• Tutored reading, grammar, and high school chemistry
• Trained at The Autism Treatment Center of America – The Son-Rise Program
• Tutored autistic child
• Taught art and after-school art program to preschoolers

Here are some of the interesting activities we do in Literature:

• Share literary circle jobs
• Discuss & locate figurative language such as:  similes, metaphors, personification, alliteration, etc.
• Discuss & analyze literature
• Learn about the 5 elements of Literature:  character, setting, conflict, plot, and theme
• Write poetry
• Answer comprehension questions
• Complete vocabulary exercises

​My Literature Foundations class will enhance literature skills and “dig deeper” in literature as students create a strong foundation of literature.
